Clyde “Tamo” H. Muranaka, 54, of Hilo died Sunday, Jan. 29, at his residence. Born in Honokaa, he was a driver for Air Freight Specialist and Pacific Floral Exchange, a former member of the Hawaii Army National Guard and previously employed by State Highways in Honokaa, Coastline Express, Herb’s Diner, Ando Store and Ken’s Service Station. He also worshipped at Glad Tidings Church in Hilo. Benjamin Gerardo Joaquin Sr., 91, of Honokaa died Feb. 4 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Gabu, Laoag, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a retired bulldozer operator for the former Davies Hamakua and former shuttle bus driver for the Hilton Waikoloa. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Honokaa Ward, and a member of the Honokaa Filipino Club.
